- Lost Heroes Art Quilt. Julie Feingold honors the memory of Americans who died in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars since September 11, 2001. Childhood pictures of fallen heroes are sewn into vintage GI Joe jackets. She worked with Gold Star Mothers to obtain the childhood photographs used on the quilt. Be sure to read the artist's discussion of the symbolism in the quilt.
