Dallas was a 50 pound mixed breed dog with a loud bark. I adopted her from a New Jersey SPCA shelter in October 1993. Dallas was my faithful companion for 12½ years until her passing on April 6, 2006. Thankfully, I was retired and spent a lot of time with her during the last half year of her life. Dallas was jealous of the telephone. She barked when the phone rang and vied for my attention when I was on the telephone. (Frequently, I wound up with either a ball in my lap or a dog.) Fortunately, she was much more tolerant of the computer. She thought the quilt on the sofa was just for her and left it tattered from her use. |

A favorite resting spot on the stairs in our Missouri home. |
Gazing at the backyard from a vantage point at the top of the stairs. |
Waiting patiently. |
